With it being the first week of Half Term there was always going to be a limited programme of matches but the weather also took its toll with over half of those fixtures that were scheduled being lost to waterlogged pitches.

Under 17

Leaders Stratton Juniors B opened up a 12-point lead at the top of the table after a 7-2 away win at Westbrook.

On target for Stratton were Craig Whitbread (2), Steve Nicholls (2), James Baldwin (2) and Tim Hall. John Lee and Omar Qureshi replied for Westbrook.

Shaw moved to within three points of second placed Stratton Juniors A with a game in hand following a 4-1 home win over Ferndale Rodbourne. Adam Legg and Dan Hiscock were among the goals for Shaw.

The game between Wootton Bassett Town A and Sherbourne Harriers kicked off but was abandoned after 20 minutes due to the pitch cutting up badly. The score was 0-0 at the time and the game will be replayed.

At the bottom of the table Fairford registered their first point of the season following a 2-2 draw with Swindon Badgers. Ollie Garner and Ben Sibley scored for Fairford, Barnaby Stygall and James Tinsley for Badgers.

Under 15 Division 2

There are new leaders of the division following Walcot Wanderers 9-0 demolition of Lydiard Youth.

For once Zig Wardale did not lead the scorers, netting two, with Jack Lumsden out scoring him with a hat-trick. The others came from Nick Mitchell, Robert Lockyear, Azmol Ali and Stuart Finnigan.

Third-placed Blunsdon could have a big say in the final destination of the title as Walcot have to play them twice and Eldene once in the final run in.

Juventus Juniors picked up a good point in a 2-2 draw at Kingsdown United. Joe Murphy and Richie Wright scored for Kingsdown, Liam Walsh and Conor Boland for Juventus.

Under 14

With the two league leaders without a game, third and fourth placed Westlea Wanderers and Brunel Boys took the opportunity to close the gap on Eastville Boys and Highworth Juniors B.

Westlea hit five without reply at Wootton Bassett Town, Stuart Hillis (2), Tom McCulloch, Callum Jones and David Proberts the scorers.

Brunel Boys scored two goals in the first 10 minutes at AFC Barbury, the first a well-struck 25-yard free kick from Lee Beale which flew into the top corner and a second from a low drilled shot from Wade Dixon following a corner kick.

Despite a heavy pitch and strong winds both teams enjoyed good spells of possession and battled hard to win the midfield.

With 20 minutes to go Dan Franklin pulled a goal back for Barbury following a well-worked corner which breathed new energy into tired legs.

The heavy conditions took their toll on both defences which saw three goals in the last 15 minutes, two quick breaks from Brunel to net two through Dominic Burtenshaw and Luke Mitchell and Lee Gratton scoring a second for Barbury.

Star of the show for Croft Juniors in their game at Penhill Allstars was Tony O'Connell, who bagged all five goals in their 5-0 win.

In a match which started off in a hailstorm, the honours were finally shared as Shaw drew three all with Ferndale. Shaw started off the brighter and were 2-0 up at half time thanks to Laurence Royal and Daryl Charman.

However, Ferndale came back strongly in the second half and chipped away at the Shaw lead first through Ashley Taylor. Steven Hall then equalised and Steve Smart put Ferndale 3-2 ahead.

In a determined fight back Shaw then equalised to make it 3-3.

Under 13 Division 1

Just one game survived the weather and it saw Old Town United B move up a couple of places in the table following a 4-1 home win over Wroughton.

Josh Harper scored twice for Old Town with the other two Old Town goals coming from Luke Robinson and Dan McAteer. Craig Rawlins scored the consolation goal for Wroughton.

Under 13 Division 2

Again just one game was played and Stratton Juniors closed the gap on the leaders following a 3-0 win at Purton. Scott Jeffries scored twice with the other coming courtesy of an own goal.

Under 12 Division 1

Wootton Bassett Town missed out on the chance to close the gap on the leaders despite going 1-0 up in their game against Stratton Juniors A through Vince Tapster.

However, three goals in the closing 15 minutes gave Stratton all three points. Jack Grey scored the equaliser from the penalty spot, Aaronjeet Kharaud put them 2-1 in front and they secured the points with a strike from Jason Gunnett.

There were plenty of goals in the match between Brunel Boys and Ferndale Rodbourne B, Brunel eventually winning 8-4 thanks to goals from Dan Franckom (3), Jordan Williams, Liam Ody, Michael Malekides, Craig Beckerlegg and Jake Atkin. On target for Ferndale were John Rees (2), Liam Murray and Kieran Holmes.

Under 12 Division 2

Shrivenham & Watchfield closed the gap on leaders Liden Community with a feast of goals at Highworth Juniors B, 12-0 the final score. The win also took them into second place above Lydiard Youth.

Their scorers were Tino Fiore (4), Craig Thompson (3), Alex Celer (2), Will Snell, Ollie Waite and Ryan Dandy.

But Liden restored the gap between the two sides with a narrow 2-1 win over Marlborough Youth, the winner coming in the closing stages, Jack Copp scoring for Marlborough, Jason McGovern and Lawrence Smith for Liden.

A hat-trick from Tom Phipps, plus one for Liam O'Brien, gave Fairford a 4-2 home win over an improving Castle Combe Colts, Jordan Murphy scoring both of the Colts goals on his debut.

Purton had an excellent 5-2 win over Swindon Badgers, Chris Ackrill and Dale Lane scoring for Badgers. Purton scorers were Daniel Cole (2), MArk Woolhouse, Darryl Ritchings and Lewis Elton.

Under 11 Central

Just one game survived, and leaders Malmesbury extended their lead at the top to five points with a 6-2 win at third-placed Highworth Town.

Once again Matthew Coote was among the goals scoring a hat-trick, Robin Collier bagging a brace and the other goal coming from a Highworth defender. David Maksymuk continued his fine goal scoring form with both Highworth goals.

Under 9 North

Just one game was played and this saw Wootton Bassett Town consolidate in second spot with a 6-0 win at Purton. On target for Bassett were Sam Lowkis with a hat-trick, Tyler Amos (2) and Jake Matthews.

Under 9 South

Again just one game was played and it saw Stratton Youth move up into second place behind champions Old Town United following a 11-0 home win over bottom of the table Penhill Allstars.

Stratton led 9-0 at the break and credit to the Penhill Allstars side for their much improved second half showing. On target for Stratton Youth were Dan Hill (4), William Christopher (2), Ryan Jackson (2), Matthew Rendell, Scott Reynolds and an own goal.
