A SWINDON veterinary practice is offering visits by its staff to pre-schools, schools and youth groups.
Vets from the Drove Veterinary Practice will visit the schools with a selection of animals and will give children a taste of what it is like to be a vet.
Children will be allowed to scan Shmikey the dog for a microchip, listen to Tango the cat's heartbeat with a stethoscope and meet a tortoise and a snake.
The workshops are aimed at teaching the children how to look after animals and allaying any fears they have.
The vets are also prepared to visit Women's Institute meeting and seniors groups.
