THE COTSWOLD Water Park has received a ringing endorsement after a visit from South West MEP Dr Caroline Jackson.
Dr Jackson, who is Conservative Party environment spokesman, said: "I'm really impressed by the facilities and development plans for the Water Park.
"This area is set to become a world class centre and I think it's appropriate that the EU helps to fund the Water Park.
"This is the new face of tourism development in the south west in the next 50 years.
"I have pledged my help in supporting the sustainable development of the Water Park, ensuring the balance between tourism and landscape restoration."
Dr Jackson was shown around key sites within the Water Park by chief executive, Tim Pain.
He said: "We are delighted to have the interest and support of Dr Jackson as we reach a pivotal point in developing the Water Park for future generations.
"As a charitable organisation, the Cotswold Water Park Society is dependent on raising large sums of money to carry out our work.
"Attracting European funding is a vital part of our overall funding programme."
Dr Jackson's tour included a visit to the park's new Gateway Centre.
