AMESBURY town councillors have agreed to purchase £3,500-worth of metal shutters to help protect the town's pavilion.
Councillor Larry Evenett said these would not only stop vandals smashing the windows but would enhance the visual security of the entire recreation ground site.
Councillor Allan Peach asked whether anything could be done to improve the access road to the recreation ground, which he said was littered with potholes.
Councillor Fred Westmoreland added: "If we want to encourage more people to go down there, we have got to do something.
"Certainly, we can put it in the budget for next year, but it would be nice if we could do something cheap and cheerful this year."
