A PENSIONER had her handbag snatched as she walked along Shrivenham Road on Sunday.
The 68-year-old victim was approached from behind at 1.30pm.
When she attempted to fend the assailant off she was pushed to the ground.
The large red bag contained a pair of spectacles, a make-up bag, a large green purse, miscellaneous
cards and an unknown quantity of cash.
A second man appeared to be with the robber, although he did take part in the incident.
The victim was not physically hurt, but police say she was left shaken by her ordeal.
The robber, who was aged in his 20s, is described as white, about 5'ft 7" tall, of slim build with a clear complexion.
He wore a baseball cap, dark coloured jacket, jeans and trainers.
Anyone with information should call Swindon CID on 01793 528111.
