76032THE Wild Man Of The Woods ventured out of his natural habitat and turned up at the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery.
He was taking part in a family event at the museum, tied in with the current exhibition, which focuses on nature.
Museum spokeswoman Ursula Edmunds said: "The families enjoyed the day very much.
"The Wild Man Of The Woods made quite a physical impact, being green. The children were fascinated by his stories and they learnt a lot about nature.
"This was all part of our nature theme to mark the start of spring."
The Wild Man sang songs, with a whistle and a traditional Irish drum, and told stories about the natural world.
And, after a lifetime in the woods, he was able to pass on information about different kinds of trees and how they can be used.
Also at the event was a poem tree, where children cut out leaf shapes, wrote poems and messages on them, and attached them to the tree.
The Nature For All exhibition, where visitors have a chance to discover more about local nature reserves and the work of Ranger team, continues until April 24 and admission is free.
