OUTLINE plans for ten new homes on a garden in Brunkards Lane, Pewsey, have met with opposition from the parish council.
Members of the council's planning committee had before them a barrage of letters from objecting neighbours when the plans were discussed last Wednesday. So many objectors attended the meeting that it had to be moved from the council offices into the Bouverie Hall.
Planning committee chairman Coun Peter Deck said: "It was of major interest because the site is right in the middle of an established residential area."
Although the proposed site for the ten homes is in Brunkards Lane, off the High Street, the proposed access was into Middlemass Green on the Broomcroft Road estate.
The parish council planning committee agreed not to support the application, saying it was over-development and that the access onto Middlemass Green was too narrow and dangerous.
It also said the plans did not comply with the Village Design Statement and could have a detrimental effect on the Pewsey Conservation Area.
Members also raised concerns over loss of privacy for neighbours.
