THE DTI has launched a booklet called Information Security: Protecting Your Business Assets.
The publication, which says it is a jargon-free guide to guarding information and assets, is aimed at those responsible for information security, but can also be used by anyone who processes and uses data.
The guide highlights how to use good practice to protect information from being maliciously or unintentionally changed, how to make it available when and where needed and ensure only those with a legitimate right can access it.
It also covers current best practice in the private and public sectors and shows how the international standards can be applied to ensure that appropriate protection is given.
To view or download the pamphlet visit www.dti.gov.uk/bestpractice/infosec or call the DTIon 0870 150 2500.
