Wootton Bassett's mobile skatepark project has jumped its latest obstruction after the town council agreed to overlook late changes made by North Wiltshire District Council.
The town council has expressed its annoyance after the district council, which has operational responsibility for the scheme, included Chippenham but without asking the town to raise any local funding.
The partnership project, established in January last year, includes Devizes and Calne Town Councils and Purton Parish Council and will mean Wootton Bassett has a mobile skate park for three hours a week.
Each council has had to find suitable sites and agree to an annual revenue payment of £1,500. But the district council has agreed to fund Chippenham's provision after a search for a permanent skatepark has again proved unsuccessful.
In a report to councillors Wootton Bassett town clerk Jonathan Bourne said: "Sadly Wootton Bassett now has a history of projects where the district council has altered its objectives and moved support away from Wootton Bassett based projects."
Councillors acknowledged the frustrations but resolved to continue with the scheme for the sake of the town's youth for whom the mobile skate park is intended.
