Jay Cunningham, 21, has received a Community Service Award from Wootton Bassett and District Rotary Club for her initiative and work on the town's war memorial.
President of the Rotary Club Brenda Sedgwick said: "There's only been a very few people who have received this award and we thought that what she's done is very very good and that she deserved it especially considering her age."
The memorial, a bronze statue of the globe on a stone base, was finally completed in September after local people helped raise the £14,000 required. It took Miss Cunningham and her committee six years to make the memorial a reality.
