WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: BAD weather disrupted the Wiltshire league programme with around half the scheduled matches postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Pinehurst OB and AFC Abbey Rodbourne produced the match of the day in Wilts Junior Two, visitors Abbey beating the home side 7-6 in a cracking encounter.

Pinehurst were three goals up inside the first half an hour, with Abbey fighting back to score twice before the break.

The visitors then drew level at three all and four all before Pinehurst pulled a couple of goals clear to lead 6-4.

Another rally by Abbey then levelled the scores and with five minutes remaining scored the winner with a strike from Barry Armstrong.

A spokesman for the winners said: "If the ref had blown up at six all I think both sides would have been pleased. It was a great game."

Pinehurst boss Jock Elliott, although disappointed to have lost, agreed that it was an excellent game and played in a good spirit.

Shane Davies (3), Shawn Dodson (2) and John Romain were on target for Pinehurst with Armstrong, Paul Parsons and Ian Curtis all scoring two apiece for Abbey and Danny Hawkins the other.

Just two games got the go ahead in the Premier division, at Warminster the home side held Bradford to a 3-3 draw and Westbury United and Devizes Town Reserves drew 1-1.

Second-in-the-table Bradford were looking for a victory that would have put them level on points at the top with Corsham but were trailing 3-1 at one stage.

However central defender Mike Little saved the day with a hat-trick to earn his side a share of the spoils.

Ashley Wain (2), the first from a corner after two minutes, and a 25- yard strike from Stuart Beggs were the home side's scorers.

After a blank first 45 minutes Luke Hopper broke the deadlock for Devizes early in the second half.
