YOUNG musicians hit all the right notes in an annual competition to showcase their talent.
Harriet Leech, a pupil at Bradon Forest School, and Phillip Williams, of Highworth Warneford School, were named Swindon Young Musicians of the Year.
The contest, held at Blunsdon House Hotel and now in its ninth year, was open to all of the senior schools in Swindon.
Playing the cello, Harriet's performance of Faure's Elegie took first prize in the senior section.
The 15-year-old is passionate about music and has played the cello since she was 10.
Alongside her studies, she also enjoys singing, playing the piano and attends the junior department of the Royal College of Music in Kensington, London.
Second place went to Liam Compson, from St Joseph's School.
Phillip gave a rendition of The Shadow of Your Smile on the tenor saxophone to clinch the junior competition.
Singer Kate Leedham, from Kingsdown School, took second place and Susan Jennings, also from Kingsdown School, played the piano to take the third position.
Alan Fletcher, who organised the event on behalf of the Rotary Club of North Wiltshire, said: "The standard of the entrants this year was extremely high and the 150 people in the audience were treated to a wonderful evening of entertainment and some outstanding individual performances."
