POLICE officers from the Far East will be visiting Swindon today to find out more about British policing.
Wiltshire Constabulary is hosting a visit from eight International Police Commanders this week.
They are all currently training at the Police Training and Development Authority, CENTREX, in Bramshill, Hampshire.
The officers are currently undertaking a ten-week intensive programme of training, which prepares International Commanders for the higher ranks.
The course also allows the senior police officers to observe first hand all aspects of British operational policing, including major incident room co-ordination, community partnerships and forensics, through a one-week special attachment.
Some of the officers visiting Swindon today include Superintendent Ranier Idio of the Philippine National Police, Superintendent Wee Teck Hoong of the Singapore Police Force and Senior Superintendent Anang Pratanto of the Indonesian National Police.
