KENNET District Council has just turned down a housing application for 150 homes at Devizes (population 13,000).
As the Gazette reports "the creation of so many houses not included in the replacement local plan would result in more people commuting out of Devizes".
However, the same council will probably approve the construction of about 200 homes, at the eastern end of Marlborough (population 8,000) causing considerable extra parking and traffic problems, especially in the town centre.
Local residents will be paying a very stiff price for the creation of a new super school.
