CORSHAM produced a brave display against Western Counties opponents Walcot before slipping to a 17-0 defeat in their Bath Combination Cup outing.
The visitors, top of Dorset and Wilts Division One North, went behind when Walcot grabbed two tries late in the first half and completed their victory with a try in the final ten minutes.
l THE club's second string fell 42-19 to a strong Walcot thirds.
Walcot forged into a 35-0 lead, but the visitors showed plenty of character in the second half and scrum-half Rich Cartwright led the way with the first try, converted by Steve Tye.
Centre Tom Sandell grabbed his first try, in his second game back from injury, again converted by Tye.
l CORSHAM U9s enjoyed another successful day, this time at Wootton Bassett.
The pitch was far from perfect being water logged in places with several inches of thick wet mud over three quarters of the sloping pitch.
Corsham scored three tries to nil against Wotton Basset A team, and eight tries to nil against their B team.
There were some notable performances from both the backs and forwards, with Ollie Deane scoring a hat trick at scrum-half, and prop Sam Kershaw dominating forward play.
