Just a short note on the sad loss we have all suffered with the passing of Ian McAbendroth at the early age of 57. How we are all going to miss that smiling face down at Devizes Wharf.
He and his wife Liz were past customers of mine at White Horse Boats in Devizes along with their friends Jane and Steve who then bought one of my boats and took them off boating with them.
In turn they bought themselves a boat from another boat club member at Pewsey and spent many happy hours cruising the Kennet & Avon Canal.
We never lost him as a good friend and he was a really amusing person, always having a ready quip on virtually any topic.
I never heard him say anything nasty about anyone, always finding the best in people.
Why does it have to be those who like Ian are taken too soon from us? I for one will sorely miss his banter as he cruised past the trip boat.
My condolances to Liz and to all his family.
I Sharp
