WILTSHIRE detectives investigating the death of heroin addict Rachel Whitear have submitted a full report into the incident.
Dr Elizabeth Earland, HM Coroner for Exeter and Greater Devon, will consider the report before determining whether there is sufficient new evidence to re-open an inquest.
The body of the former Bath University student, 21, from Ledbury, Herefordshire, was found in a bedsit in Exmouth, Devon, in May 2000.
The tragedy hit the headlines after Miss Whitear's parents released pictures of her body as part of an anti-drugs campaign.
Wiltshire police launched a re-investigation into Rachel's death after her parents raised questions about the original inquiry. No post mortem was carried out and an inquest recorded an open verdict.
Her body was exhumed in March last year for further tests.
Police have said there is no evidence of a third party being involved in her death.
