16575/2THE music was acoustic but the atmosphere was electric as crowds packed into The George, Bradford on Avon, to see a popular local band take to the stage in aid of the tsunami appeal.
Blackbud performed for an hour on Sunday and helped to raise hundreds of pounds as part of Wiltshire Rocks.
The band, who last year signed a five-album record deal with music label Independiente, worked the crowd to fever
pitch.
A spokesman for the band said: "It was really enjoyable. It was very relaxed and a lot of their friends and people who had been following the band came from as far away as Weymouth to watch.
"They trialed some new songs and did 40 minutes of their own stuff acoustically."
Also performing on the day were Bristol-based band Clumsy, Bradford solo artist Leander Morales and Trowbridge man Steve Loudoun, helping to raise more than £300.
Despite their recent success, Blackbud, who consist of former St Laurence pupils Joe Taylor, Adam Newton and Sam Nadel, have maintained their Bradford links.
"They have got a lot on at the moment and have a gig in Bath in the near future, so playing on local territory has always been very important to them," said the band spokesman.
