THIS is a warning to users of Castle Place car park the only remaining free car park in town.
Forget the idea that it is free. There is one way the council is able to make money out of us motorists here. All you have to do is park "not wholly within the designated parking bay" and you are liable for a whopping £60 fine! Yes, £60, the fine for exceeding a speed limit.
So, what can we do? Appeal against this injustice? Tried that. All I achieved was a 50 per cent reduction in the fine.
The district council is over-zealous in the way in which the parking regulations at Castle Place are being interpreted.
