SKATEBOARDERS in Trowbridge have begun fundraising for a skatepark in the town.
The youngsters are planning an event at the BMX track at Studley Green, to raise money towards the proposed £110,000 facility at Stallards Park.
The town council deferred an application last month for more detailed plans to be prepared.
The proposal has prompted mixed reactions, with some welcoming more youth facilities for the town but others fearing more noise and disruption.
There is already a ramp at the park but the new facility would be bigger, with nine structures, including ramps.
Town councillors plan to hold a site meeting with worried residents once the detailed proposals have been prepared.
