A WOMAN who stabbed her husband with a knife had a history of depression, a court heard on Friday.
Shirley Green, 42, used the weapon to stab Mark Cooke twice on November 24.
Green, of Duke Street, Trowbridge, could face a prison sentence after admitting causing grievous bodily harm when she appeared at Swindon Crown Court.
Green had been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent but, on considering a medical report, the Crown Prosecution Service accepted her plea to the lesser charge. At an earlier hearing the court heard she had a 'history of depression'.
The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports to be prepared by the probation service and Green was released on bail.
