A SWINDON swimming pool is to play a big part in raising money for some the country's most vulnerable youngsters.
Dorcan Recreation Complex in Covingham is one of 500 pools in Britain taking part in the Butlins' Swimathon to raise money for the children's charity NCH.
The charity is hoping to raise £2 million from the event, which is being held between March 19 and March 27.
Chris Smith, duty pool manager, said: "This event's an excellent way to promote a healthier lifestyle as well as raising much need funds for NCH."
Toby Collis, local fundraiser for the charity, said: "This is a great event and we really need as many local people as possible to take part.
"Participating is a great way to get fit and raise money for NCH's vital work with more than 140,000 children, young people and their families every year in the UK."
NCH works in Ashton Keynes with the Cotswold Community, a residential school looking after emotionally disturbed boys.
