I WRITE in response to the many inaccuracies contained in Ms Evans' letter (EA Sat, Feb 12) regarding Freshbrook Primary School.
Schools in Special Measures no longer receive any additional funding and have not done so for several years.
We, the staff, governors, parents and children, rose to the ambitious challenge of removal from Special Measures in a very short space of time as a result of total commitment and hard work from all stakeholders.
We did not receive any additional money and it was only after our removal that we accessed two grants in order to further our school improvement aims, both of which are available to all schools in Swindon.
What a pity that Ms Evans' information comes from such an unreliable source.
These unreliable and inaccurate statements are detracting from a debate about the real issues involved in the exciting plans for the children of West Swindon.
