IT'S hardly surprising there is so much fly tipping around the Swindon area when you consider how complicated it is to get the council to collect anything.
My husband rang the council to ask them to pick up six items of rubbish, which we expected to cost £12.
He was told a mattress and bed base are two items, not one bed and so we'd have to pay for nine items to be collected.
He booked collection of six and asked if the other three could be booked for collection at the same time. He was told he would have to book another collection only after the first six had been picked up, and that the council don't collect three items, only six at a time.
This will leave us with three large items of rubbish in our garden and no way of disposing of them.
They're far too bulky to fit in the car and take to the tip.
Can anyone else understand this ruling on rubbish collection?
