ATTACK-minded Andy King admits today's clash with Torquay United is 'a big one to win' and feels he now has the necessary blend of silk and steel to pursue promotion.
The County Ground boss admires his Plainmoor counterpart's footballing philosophy and views this afternoon's clash as a potentially attractive affair.
King is in positive mood though and that is likely to be reflected in his line-up.
He said: "My thoughts are going there with a team with a view to winning.
"I certainly won't be going to face them with a 4-5-1.
"It is a big game for us to win to put us in a very, very good position."
King was delighted with the way his team performed against Barnsley last week and feels the blend is now right.
He said: "I believe you need a mixture to be successful.
"On Saturday we had it. We looked like we'd score goals, we had wing play in wide areas but we also looked strong and competitive.
"We're big enough to defend and attack set pieces."
King also takes confidence from the fact that he now has bodies to help counteract the opposition should he need to alter the game plan at any stage.
The Town manager feels Torquay's desire to play football rather than scrap their way to safety could aid his team.
He said: "In general they are a footballing side. Leroy Rosenior takes great pride in his team playing football.
"They play out from defence and get it to the wide men in a rigid 4-4-2.
"Torquay will pass the ball and that suits us. Sometimes we seem to crumble in the dogfight.
"When people have allowed us to play we can cope with that.
"I certainly don't expect a quick front to back game where you're defending corners and long throws.
"I expect the team who creates more in open play to win the game.
"It's about our attitude and mental strength as well.
"If we're up for it, start the game well and are in there fighting, I'm comfortable."
King views strikers Adebayo Akinfenwa and Leon Constantine as threats but feels he has two men at the back more than able to cope.
He said: "Akinfenwa is a big, strong lad while Constantine is tall.
"Sean O'Hanlon loves a battle though and Matt Heywood has the height to counteract Constantine."
Town would end the day in sixth spot with victory at Plainmoor, although the current occupiers of that position, Brentford, would have three games in hand.
King said: "That doesn't bother me. I've been in the game long enough to know things can change overnight."
