In May every year, Chippenham hosts a spectacular and colourful folk festival, drawing thousands of people from across Britain and beyond.
For over 30 years, the three-day event has brought folk musicians, dancers and Morris sides into the town for a celebration of Britain's folk culture and heritage.
On May Bank Holiday Monday the revellers take over the town centre with a giant street market, processions, Morris dancing, concerts and workshops.
The organisers hope that the festival, which began in Lacock, retains a village atmosphere. This year the event will take place May 27 to 30 and the programme includes over 200 events, including over 50 workshops, concerts, ceilidhs, dances, story telling and a host of events for children and young people.
The main ceilidh and concerts take place in Monkton Park, but many pubs and venues in the town also host sessions.
The High Street and Market Place are used for busking and street
theatre and a street market takes place on the Monday.
