FOURTEEN-MAN Chippenham returned to South West Two East action with a vengeance as they dismantled Ivel Barbarians 58-21.
Following last week's half-century of points against Cooper-Avon in a friendly, the home side made light of the absence of three first team regulars loosehead prop John Beart, lock Kevin Thornton and centre and skipper Rupert Crockett.
And they also overcame the sending-off of Koroi Misimi to storm home.
They trailed 7-0 to an early try and conversion by the visitors, but fly-half Grant Trewartha's try got them on the board, Andy WIlliams kicking the conversion and later penalty.
Misimi was next over the line, but he then blotted his copybook by aiming a punch at a Barbarians opponent and was shown a straight red card.
Barbarians took advantage John Bokes collecting the ball and running in under the posts for Barbarians' second try.
But Trewartha added his second, converted by Williams, and he added the two points again when Darren McMillan went under the posts.
Bokes found his way to the sin-bin towards the end of the first half, and Williams took advantage to score a try.
The first try of the second half was the second for McMillan and Alex Ferraday added the next, Williams with the conversion.
Feraday's second soon followed and McMillan completed his hat-trick before Barbarians managed a late consolation, Joe Covu and James Shaw their other try scorers and Emlyn Kuhn kicking all three conversions.
Reading Abbey maintained top spot in the division with a 34-3 defeat of Marlow, Chippenham just a point behind in second place, but six clear of Swanage & Wareham in third.
