A ROW over drugs landed Carl Kilding back in prison after he stole a mobile phone from a crack cocaine addict.
The 32-year-old, who was free on licence after serving half of a three-year sentence for burglary, was returned to prison for seven months.
Robin Shellard, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court that the victim Adam Harrop was a drug addict.
He said: "He had been out on Thursday December 15. He had been to a nightclub and wanted to purchase some crack cocaine.
"He was introduced to a man who took him to where this man was living. It seems some crack was purchased and money handed over.
An argument ensued and during the argument the mobile phone was left. This man then took it."
He said Kilding had a history of crime with 49 previous convictions including a number of burglaries, the most recent being in Kingston upon Hull in October 2002 when he was sentenced to three years in jail.
Kilding, of Radnor Street, had been charged with robbery, which he denied but pleaded guilty to a count of theft.
Chris Smyth, said Kilding had his licence revoked and was not due to be released from prison until July 24.
Passing a two-month concurrent sentence Recorder Michael Tennant said "You will be aware that a custodial sentence is the only possible outcome."
