FOOTBALL fans heading for Cardiff for the Carling Cup final on Sunday are urged to plan their trip.
Swindon-based train operator First Great Western is running extra services between London Paddington and Cardiff on the day of the final on Sunday, but all of these 'compulsory reservation' services are now fully booked.
All trains will be 'dry' with no alcohol permitted on board, following advice from the British Transport Police.
Between 60,000 and 70,000 fans are expected to head for Cardiff to watch Chelsea and Liverpool clash at the Millennium Stadium.
Phil West of First Great Western said: "Based on previous experience of similar matches, we're expecting large numbers of fans to travel from London Paddington or from Reading.
"It's essential that football fans plan their journeys well in advance.
"Reservations are compulsory so fans shouldn't just turn up and hope to buy a ticket at the last minute. Those without reservations are not guaranteed to arrive in Cardiff in time for the kick-off."
