THE varied landscapes of Britain's national parks will feature in a talk in Swindon on Friday.
Mervyn Silver, of the Friends Of National Parks, will be giving the illustrated talk on Britain's best-known areas of natural beauty.
He said: "The purpose of the talk is to encourage awareness of the outstanding natural beauty of our national parks.
"It will also highlight the work undertaken by the Park Authorities and the Council For National Parks to maintain a sustainable balance between the needs of the local communities, the pressures on the land and the use of the areas for conservation and recreation."
The talk, entitled National Parks Not Ours, But Ours To Look After is at Swindon Museum and Art Gallery in Old Town, starting at 7.30 pm.
Tickets cost £4.50 or £3 for members of the Friends of Swindon Museum & Art Gallery. For more information telephone 01793 466556.
