The first round of the Angling Times Super Cup, featuring club teams of 10, took place on a very cold and clear running river at Rushy on Sunday.
Team Elgin proved to be a strong squad on the host team's chosen water and despite Haydon Street AC having the top two slots individually with Dale Bryne weighing in 13-13-0 and Paul Ogbourne 13-9-0 would have to settle for second.
Team Elgin's tactics on the day proved Pewsey's undoing and with a combined team weight of 28lb had to make do with third spot.
Haydon Street's team weight was 38lb and the winners team Elgin combined weight was 41lb.
