FRESHBROOK residents are set to lose their mobile library service because of a lack of interest.
Following the full council meeting at, Swindon Borough Council, on February 21, it was decided the small library will not continue to travel to Freshbrook because of low visitor numbers.
However, Caroline Pike, a spokeswoman for Swindon council assures residents the council will continue with its deposit collections and home library service for residents living in sheltered accommodation.
People living in Freshbrook are disappointed at the news and say they don't want to lose this service.
Maureen Humphries, of Prince Rupert Court, Freshbrook, said: "There are a lot of sheltered flats in Freshbrook and Toothill and a lot of residents who enjoy reading but cannot get to the library."
"It visits us once a fortnight.
"Surely it's not too much to ask?"
