A DISABLED 83-year-old man has been waiting six months for Swindon Council to repair the lock on his garage.
Kenneth Cooper-Keeble, from Highworth, has not been able to operate his garage door without help.
After six months of problems the retired mechanical engineer is still waiting for the council to help him.
Mr Cooper-Keeble said: "The council told me they can't repair the mechanism because they have never seen one like this before.
"It's been like this since September.
"I'm paying £5 a week to rent a garage I can't use.
"I'm back to square one."
A spokeswoman for Swindon council said: "An order has been placed with our door supplier and they will be contacting Mr Keeble directly to arrange a convenient time to come and replace his garage door.
"This should be done within the next two weeks.
"Swindon Borough Council would also like to apologise for this unfortunate incident, caused by an administrative error and will undertake to review its procedures in an attempt to prevent any future occurrences of this nature" she added.
