IN the last two months, my wife and daughter on a shopping trip from Swindon to Reading have found, on arrival at Swindon station, that the trains on that Saturday were not running for one reason or another and had been replaced by a bus service.

This bus service has done its job but is much slower and more tiresome.

Can someone from the train service explain how, when this service change takes place, the fare for the bus replacement is the same as for the actual train service.

Being that a poorer service is given, surely the fare should reflect this change also.
