I WAS concerned to read recent articles regarding the former St Joseph's pupil who was admitted to hospital after contracting meningitis and heartened to see he has now made a full recovery and is back at home.
Meningitis UK warns that traditionally from October the number of cases of bacterial meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia dramatically rise through the winter months, peaking in February. As we are now in this period, the importance of early recognition of the symptoms is paramount if lives are to be saved.
We provide a wide range of information for this purpose. Contact: Meningitis UK, 25 Cleeve Wood Road, Downend, Bristol, BS16 2SF. Tel: 0117 373 7373 or email: information@meningitisuk.org
