A COURSE to help community groups run arts projects is on offer from North Wiltshire District Council.

Many groups realise they could benefit from running arts projects, but often don't know where to start or how to engage professional artists.

The course aims to give them the skills and knowledge they need to take their ideas forward.

The four-day training course will cover all aspects of planning, fundraising and managing a community arts project. The scheme is aimed at people who work with community groups but don't have experience of the arts.

Each of the four days will cover a different aspect, such as setting the scene, which helps participants to create an appropriate working atmosphere for their project, the arts as a tool for community development showing how arts and creativity can help deliver on a wide range of social issues, and money and support which covers fundraising, alongside the practicalities of organising an arts project.

The four-day course will run on April 15, 16, 22 and 23.

Participants will need to attend all four sessions.

Applications must be made no later than March 18.
