STEVE WHITE COLUMN: The season is getting on and injuries are starting to pile up for us, as I feared.
We don't have an injury crisis but I am concerned that we do not have a full complement of players.
We have done tremendously well and have only used about 20 players all season. I was astonished to read in their programme that Bath have used 45 players this year.
They are a big club, but I am very surprised that they have used so many players.
We will not be training players that are not fully fit, but have to be careful that we do not leave ourselves short.
For the derby game we were missing Scott Walker, who had a knee problem; Ben Kirk had a groin strain; Simon Charity was away; and Gary Horgan was serving a one match suspension.
That left us short for the Bath game and I had to ask a favour.
At Bath I asked Biddestone if I could use a couple of their players.
I would like to thank Gary Skidmore for letting us stick striker Luke Gullick and midfielder Dean Brookman on our bench.
Biddestone have been kind to let us use their facilities in the past and that is how I got to know Dean and Luke. They have been training with us over the past few weeks and are both great talents.
I'm sure they both have bright futures in the game and you never know what will happen, they might end up playing for Chippenham one day in the future.
But I know Luke has been training with Oxford this week and I would like to wish him all the best with that.
We would like to forge a link with Biddestone sometime in the future.
With Martin Paul leaving last week we are a little short in the forward department.
Sam Allison is likely to get a suspension for his sending off against Bath, so we will only be left with two strikers.
I am always looking for new players and have an eye out at the moment. If we can find the right player then the board have assured me they will back me to go and get him.
We have an important game to prepare for against Cirencester on Saturday. It is another local derby and should be a great game for the spectators to watch.
They have just played against Bristol Rovers and I went to take that match in.
We usually have close games against Cirencester and I expect this one to be no different.
Derbies are great occasions for the fans and the players but it is just another league game. But try telling the players that.
As a player a derby is a great match to play in. I have played in many derbies, I played for Bristol Rovers against Bristol City, Charlton versus West Ham, but I think my best derby matches were for Luton against rivals Watford in the Eighties.
There is always added spice in a derby game and they usually seem to be close affairs.
The press build derbies up and the fans and players always look forward to them. The expectation levels in these games are always high.
I was involved in some right ding dongs at Luton and they are enjoyable games to play in.
We received some great news on Wednesday, when I was told that the Wiltshire Premier Shield is going to be held at Swindon Town's County Ground.
As you probably know I played at Swindon for a number of years and have some great memories of the club. So it will be fantastic to lead a team out there. It is a professional ground and it gives the players something to look forward to.
But we have unfinished business to take care of first.
The date has not been confirmed yet but I expect it to be some time in April. I hope to see you all out there in force for what should be a great match against a professional club.
