SILBURY, the parent company of Sarsen Housing Association, is to be renamed Aster.
The change is being proposed in April when Testway Housing Association joins Silbury.
A Silbury spokesman said Aster is the Latin word for star and the name would reflect the new shape and direction of the group.
He said he did not know how much money it would cost to change the name.
"The only sign that will need changing is outside Silbury's headquarters at Cannings Hill, Devizes. Our vans will be changed to dark blue rather than white."
The Aster group will have almost 11,000 homes in ownership or management across the south of England, a turnover of around £40million and employ 400 staff located in Devizes, Andover, Romsey and Plymouth.
