MALMESBURY Mayor, Councillor Patrick Goldstone, has called this year's mayoral ball on Friday night a tremendous success after all tickets for the event were snapped up.
Mayors from all over Wiltshire and Gloucestershire joined Coun Goldstone, James Arkell, High Sheriff of Wiltshire, and members of the Royal Logistics regiment from Stanton St. Quintin at the ball.
One hundred and thirty eight guests sat down for a meal with a further 32 joining in with festivities at an after dinner dance with music from the Dubious Brothers and the Paragon Jazz Band.
Coun Goldstone said: "It was a wonderful night. It was as full as it could be possibility be.
"The music was fantastic. The Dubious Brother's didn't disappoint.
Coun Goldstone said he estimated £1,500 had been raised to be divided between the River Valleys Trust and the Wortheys Sports Association.
