RESIDENTS are not impressed by the new application that has been submitted for 22 homes at the old Malmesbury outdoor pool site.
They say too many houses are being built on the site and object to many of the buildings being three-storey.
Objectors say the site would be an eyesore and impact on the quality of the area.
Brian Goswell, from White Lion Park, said "There are no three-storey houses down here. They are all two-storey and for the last 40 years it's been just a single-storey building. You were able to look across the whole of the complex to the other side and now they are going to fill it in with high buildings. It will not be in keeping with the area or sympathetic to the people living nearby. We are going to have people looking down into our windows."
Rachel Pottinger, also from White Lion Park, said: "I understand we need affordable housing but this area should be open and given to the children of Malmesbury as a place to play. It's the only bit of open land we have got. They have got Filands so why don't they build all the affordable homes there?
