15452/1As children return from their half term break Luckington Community Primary School is celebrating two pieces of good news.
First, it is one of only four schools in Wiltshire at the moment to renew its Basic Skills Quality Mark.
The award demonstrates that the school teaches reading, writing, spelling and numeracy to a consistently high standard.
Second, after many years of planning and fund-raising by the Friends of Luckington School and the governors, work has finally begun on the building of the new school hall.
Headteacher, Alastair Ponsford, said: "The local community have worked wonders to raise a staggering amount of money so that we can now realise this dream."
The school, which is at the heart of Luckington, has 42 children.
