Wootton Bassett library will become a bit of a jungle next week when children and adults go bananas at a special chimp's tea party.
The event, to mark World Book Day, will run from 4pm to 5.30pm on Thursday and is part of the day's events to encourage reading among all age groups.
The chimp's tea party is aimed at children between four and eight years old and is designed to encourage reading and promote a love of books amongst children.
Children will take part in making a jungle scene, designing their own book covers and making banana book marks to take home.
Wootton Bassett librarian, Emma Barnes, said: "We will be celebrating books and reading and the day is open for everyone, not just children but grown-ups as well.
"There's been a lot of preparation and it should be a really good day and help to get more people reading."
There will also be a 'Fit and Fair Focus' display, looking at healthy lifestyles and fair trade.
Visitors to the library will be given free bananas to encourage healthy diets and tie in with the theme of being 'bananas about books'.
