15440/01YOUNG unemployed men and women are being invited to go on a free personal development course in Devizes.
The Prince's Trust is running the 12-week course starting on March 7.
Nial Pearce, who has run similar courses before, said they help young people to develop further skills.
He said: "The personal development programme is for unemployed 16 to 25-year-olds. The programme builds confidence, team working skills and caring for others.
"The course will include a week on Dartmoor on a team building exercise.
"They will also spend two to three weeks on a community project, which they have to plan and fundraise for. On previous courses this has included building benches. Two weeks are spent on work experience in a job placement and the last few weeks
involves them in planning a challenge such as helping a needy group in the community for a day or so.
"The young people can also work towards six qualifications which will be included on their CV to help them in their search for jobs and college courses."
Mr Pearce said the course does not affect benefits such as jobseeker's allowance. Those interested in taking part should call (01380) 736675.
The Prince's Trust is a charity that provides training, personal development, business start-up, mentoring and advice for young people aged between 14 and 30.
