THE South Cerney-based 29 Regiment Royal Logistics Corps will be given the Freedom of Cotswold District on March 10.
Coun Sue Jepson, chairman of Cotswold District Council, will present the prestigious military honour.
To celebrate the freedom, the troops will be parading and marching through the Market Place, Cirencester at 10.30am on March 10.
The Commanding Officer of 29 Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Sean English, said he takes the Regiment's presence within the community seriously and is privileged that the Cotswold District Council is giving the honour to RLC.
Spokeswoman for Cotswold Council, Claire McGine, said: "The Freedom is an accolade which has been offered to the regiment cementing the close and positive relationship the district shares with the regiment."
