"I think parents need as much information and advice on dealing with challenging behaviour as they can get.
"Giving them support is really invaluable because if you are having a problem the more information available the easier it will be to cope." Sara Bentley, 36, of St Andrew's Ridge, who has two sons, five-year-old Oliver and one-year-old William, said: "Parents need as much support as they can get because it can be extremely trying. If you can find ways other than hitting them, it's a really good idea.
"It's very easy for it to happen, especially when you're tired.
"Any parent who says they have never got cross with their children is just not telling the truth."
Trudy Holway, 39, of Oakhurst Way, has two daughters, five-year-old Nina and Amy, two months.
She said: "Just knowing there is support there will help parents.
"The more people highlight that it's not easy to cope the better.
"Sometimes it doesn't always go as smooth as you like. No matter how good your child is it will always have moments and you will have difficult times." Sarah Sprigg, 35, of Ash Brake, the mother of ten-month-old Megan, said: "I think the leaflets will help immensely. I have had friends who have had difficulties and there are so many people in the same boat.
"Everyone struggles from time to time and things like this encourage people to get help.
