WESTBURY Town Council has recommended that plans to build sheltered accommodation for up to 100 pensioners in the town should go ahead.
Developer McCarthy and Stone Ltd hopes to convert Frogmore House, in Frogmore Road, into 50 sheltered apartments and 12 affordable apartments.
Its initial plan was opposed by officers at West Wiltshire District Council.
The company is appealing against the council's refusal while also submitting a revised plan.
The new plan received no objections from Westbury Town Council on Monday, but with the appeal not due until November councillors are frustrated at the delays.
Planning committee chairman Bill Braid said: "I told them I would go to the planning appeal and support them."
