A YOUNG actress from Warminster will step out in the West End this weekend in a one-off musical called The Road.
Camilla Yates, 19, from Broxburn Road, will take to the stage at the Theatre Royal in London, in front of 2,700 people, after two weeks of rehearsals.
Miss Yates, who is in her first year of Dance and Performing Arts at Middlesex University, said: "It's a dream come true. It's a good opportunity to perform on the most famous stage in the West End.
"I would never have thought this would happen from singing in amateur productions."
Miss Yates has performed in front of 5,000 people for Jools Holland at Dyrham Park, near Bath, four years ago, as part of Sue Tenty's Centre Stage dance school in Warminster.
She has also appeared in productions at the Athenaeum Theatre in Warminster and is a former pupil at St Augustine's Catholic College in Trowbridge.
She said: "This is a big step from the Athenaeum to the Theatre Royal but I am really looking forward to it. I am a bit nervous but it all adds to the excitement of performing."
Miss Yates plays the part of an adult dancer in the musical and she is hoping this performance, with plenty of agents and scouts watching, will lead to more roles in the future.
"Not many people who go into the West End already have the experience of performing, dancing and singing there at the beginning of their careers," she said.
