LIBRARIES across west Wiltshire are preparing themselves for World Book Day on Thursday. The event, which is in its eighth year, is the largest annual celebration of books and reading in the UK.
To mark the occasion, staff at Bradford on Avon library are holding a health week, which is linked to this year's Bananas About Books! theme.
On Wednesday, between 10am and 4pm, there will be free taster sessions in massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.
Information will also be available about meditation and alternative therapies.
Thursday kicks off at 10am with a Rhyme Time for under threes, while between 10am and midday there will be a presentation on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Health workers with West Wilts Primary Care Trust will be on hand to explain their role in promoting public health, while a nurse will be available to take blood pressure readings and give advice between midday and 2pm.
An advice clinic on how to give up smoking will be held on Friday between midday and 2pm.
