A GROUP of dancers from Bradford on Avon went from period performances to primetime TV when they appeared on a daytime talk show this week.
The Jane Austen Dancers, who re-enact the social and popular dances of the late Georgian and Regency periods, were approached by Carlton TV to appear on Richard and Judy.
The group, who were filmed in Conkwell, featured on the show's Book Club slot on Wednesday.
Nine of the Jane Austen Dancers were asked to review a novel called The Jane Austen Book Club, and their comments were broadcast.
Dancer Juliet Greaves, of Winsley Road, said: "They probably picked us up on the internet and as the novel is called the Jane Austen Book Club they obviously thought we would be interested in reading it.
"I think it's quite prestigious to have been invited to do it."
Director of the group Elspeth Reed said: "They like to get people reading it and giving their opinion.
"We were first approached about a month ago. The whole point of this was that we should dress up in our costume and be set in a period background."
