FORMER apetito worker Andrew McMillan admitted claiming Jobseekers Allowance for three weeks while working at the frozen food factory.
McMillan, 21, of Lambrok Close, Trowbridge, was given a 12-month conditional discharge for the offence when he appeared before magistrates in Chippenham on Monday.
John Elliott, defending, said the benefit fraud in October 2002 was an isolated incident.
He said: "All he got wrong was that he didn't declare his job for three weeks, which amounted to the over-payments."
Mr Elliott added: "He's living with a partner who is very young and expecting his child. He has already had to answer to another authority for that."
McMillan was also ordered to pay £20 costs. He also admitted breaching a community service order from 1999, but this was revoked due to the time elapsed.
